Aftermarket Success - Kenwood DDX918WS Android Auto

Having spent the last 5 years plugging my Android phone into My Kenwood DDX918WS, I now have wireless freedom. This little adapter has just changed my life, thank you so much. As a side, I upgraded my car mount to a Magsafe compatible QI2 fast charger, when doing so I wanted to make the AndroidAuto cable from my deck redundant. Now I have only one cable to the QI2 charger, no more plugging and unplugging!

I read a lot of reviews and could not find any definitive answer regarding compatibility with aftermarket head units, so I took a chance and ordered one of these. Initially, I connected to the USB cable that I used to use for my phone, but it didn't work and I got an error message on the head unit. Remembering that Kenwood had specified somewhere that one USB cable for Android Auto and the other for Apple Car Play, I connected the dongle to the Car Play USB can immediately I received the Carlinkit menu on the screen. Paired Bluetooth, and then BANG, Android Auto appeared on the head unit and just started playing my Spotify play list. Sweet! No changes, no configuration, no messing around, just plug and play.

Awesome job guys, I am going to post this review in a few other places as there were no indications that this would ever work.
